NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
TOWN OF EGREMONT PLANNING BOARD
The Egremont Planning Board will hold a Public Hearing on Wednesday April 5, 2017 at 7:00 PM in the Town Hall Meeting Room at 171 Egremont Plain Road, Egremont, MA, relative to a proposed Zoning Bylaw Amendment to add Section 4.3.7, “Temporary Moratorium on Marijuana Retail Sale.”On November 8, 2016, the voters of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts approved a Marijuana Legalization Initiative (Question 4) law regarding the recreational use of marijuana. Currently non-medical marijuana is not addressed in the Zoning Bylaw. The regulation of recreational marijuana raises legal, planning and public safety issues, and the Town needs time to study and consider forthcoming Massachusetts regulations, to assess their impact on local zoning, and to propose potential amendments to the Zoning Bylaw. The moratorium shall be in effect through January 2019, or six months after the effective date of the Cannabis Control Commission regulations, whichever is later. The proposed Bylaw Amendment may be viewed at the Egremont Town Clerk’s office, Monday-Thursday, 1-3 pm, and at egremont-ma.gov.

THE COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS
MASSACHUSETTS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION HIGHWAY DIVISION
NOTICE OF A PUBLIC HEARING
Project File No. 607550
A Design Public Hearing will be held by MassDOT to discuss the proposed Bridge Superstructure Replacement Project on Chapel Street over the Greenwater Brook in the Town of Lee, MA. 01238.
WHERE: The Lee Memorial (Town) Hall
32 Main Street
Lee, MA 01238
WHEN:    Monday, April 3, 2017 @ 7:00 PM
PURPOSE: The purpose of this hearing is to provide the public with the opportunity to become fully acquainted with the proposed bridge superstructure replacement project. All views and comments made at the hearing will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible.
PROPOSAL: The proposed bridge project consists of the replacement of the existing single span bridge superstructure. The new 32 foot single span superstructure will have a 20 foot curb to curb width for vehicular and pedestrian traffic. There will be no sidewalks. The bridge and approach roadway profile will be adjusted to increase the minimum grade across the bridge and smooth out the transition to US Route 20. To accommodate the abutters impacted by this bridge project, the existing bridge will remain open to a single lane of alternating two-way traffic during construction since there is no viable detour. To accommodate construction activities at the space-constrained project site, Route 20 will also be reduced to a single lane of alternating two-way traffic controlled by a temporary traffic signal for a distance of approximately 600’, extending 300’ east and west of the Route 20 intersection with Chapel Street. Short-term closures of the bridge to vehicle are anticipated to be necessary during certain phases of construction, however pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
A secure right-of-way is necessary for this project. Acquisitions in fee and permanent or temporary easements may be required. The town of Lee is responsible for acquiring all needed rights in private or public lands. MassDOT’s policy concerning land acquisitions will be discussed at this hearing.
Written views received by MassDOT subsequent to the date of this notice and up to five (5) days prior to the date of the hearing shall be displayed for public inspection and copying at the time and date listed above. Plans will be on display one-half hour before the hearing begins, with an engineer in attendance to answer questions regarding this project. A project handout will be made available on the MassDOT website listed below.
