LEE — Karli Retzel and Gwen Carpenter went shot for shot Friday night as Retzel’s Lee Wildcats (9-1) outlasted the Mt. Everett Eagles (7-3) 54-46 at Lee High School. The Wildcats avenged their loss to the Eagles earlier this year, a one point 64-63 victory for the Eagles in the South County Tourney Championship game at Mt. Everett High School.
“I think the home court gives each team the four or five point advantage as it is and we lost by what eight points? The home court is definitely an advantage and I think we are as close as two teams can be in the south right now. You know you take Benzinger out of the picture and Mt. Greylock and her height, I’ll tell you we’ve got a trio of teams that are pretty amazing right there,” said Mt. Everett head coach Scott Rote.
Both Carpenter and Retzel entered halftime with a game high 15 points as Lee went into the break up nine, 33-24…Pick-up this week’s Record for the whole story.
